After a hard fought battle all day long, Justin was able to grab a second place podium finish in the Tri-C Karters round two at CalSpeed in Fontana, CA. One of the best turnouts to date in LO206 Junior class, there were seven drivers in all competing for the win. Justin ran strong in warmup and qualifying, but had nothing all day for competitor Jalen Mack, who was able to put it on the pole and win both heats easily with an incredibly strong engine.

In the main, Justin was able to hang with Jalen's fast start and run neck in neck through turn one, but he was unable to complete the pass in turn two, and from that point, there would be no catching Jalen, who finished the race a full 17 seconds ahead. Justin, however, ran very strong, and after an early spin by a few competitors, was able to pull away to over a second lead from second place. He drove it hard the entire time with no mistakes, and captured his highest finish to date in this season with Tri-C.

Justin had a number of visitors in the newly upgrade CatKart/JBR pit area, including friend and former K1 Junior League competitor Mason Deguzman and his father Eric, as well as Justin's grandparents Irv and Judy Blumenfeld, who sported the JBR Team colors all day in support of him.

All in all, it was a great weekend, and Justin was able to run a best laptime of 50.1, a very admirable effort indeed. If he continues at this pace, he'll definitely have something for the pack in round 3, where the turnout is anticipated at 12.
