Justin and his crew spent Monday at the Willow Springs kart track testing in preparation for round #2 of WSKA, coming up on January 8th. It was cold and windy in Rosamond, and despite it being his Mom's birthday, the team was able to test out a new clutch drum with a 15-tooth drive gear, making it more convenient to test rear sprocket combinations to improve the overall ratio for optimum performance. After recent rains, the track was very green and slick from the cold temps. Justin contended with multiple spins, but recovered well from them all, never leaving the track or flat-spotting the tires, a testament to his driving skill and quick reactions. The JBR team also tested out the new GoPro 5 Hero Black on a brand new, custom fabricated steel frame mount, which worked flawlessly. As a bonus, Luke Duncan (aka Two Flags of YouTube fame) joined the team for a few hours to lend support and document the day with his ever popular VLOG. Justin was able to shave nearly a half second off of his times, so hopefully this will translate to a great performance this coming Sunday.
